Job summary

Bastion Technologies in Houston, TX, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to support NASA's space exploration programs. The role involves collaborating with a team to analyze requirements, develop design solutions, and produce drawings conforming to ASME Y14.5 and GD&T standards.

Qualifications

• This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
• Must have a bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Must have a minimum of 2+ years of related work experience.
• Experience designing parts and assemblies using 3D CAD modeling software.
• Experience producing drawings conforming to ASME Y14.5.
• Experience applying tolerance analyses, including GD&T and thermal effects.
• Experience with machine shop processes and rapid prototyping (3D printing).
• Experience with structural and thermal analyses of parts and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Support NASA's future space exploration activities.
• Collaborate in a team to analyze requirements and develop design solutions.
• Design, develop, test, analyze, and implement technical products and systems.
• Perform engineering design evaluations and hand calculations as needed.
• Produce engineering drawings conforming to applicable standards (ASME Y14.5).
• Conduct tolerance analyses, including GD&T and thermal effects.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses of parts and assemblies.
• Prepare and present at design reviews and create design documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
