Job summary

Bastion Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Thermal Analysis Engineer for a role in Houston, TX. The position focuses on developing and validating thermal models and analyses for spacecraft, with responsibilities spanning from design collaboration to NASA-facing documentation.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least two years of related experience, plus hands-on work with Thermal Desktop, COMSOL, or ANSYS Fluent. Onsite work with a 9/80 schedule is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent and related work experience.
  • Experience with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop, COMSOL, ANSYS Fluent, or similar software.
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer principles and spacecraft thermal environments.
  • Ability to assess and validate thermal designs for technical accuracy and compliance with requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain simplified to high-fidelity thermal models using Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, and related tools.
  • Perform steady-state and transient thermal analyses for spacecraft components and configurations.
  • Evaluate thermal performance across mission phases including ascent, cruise, lunar orbit, and surface operations.
  • Support thermal verification and validation activities including test planning and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with design teams to optimize PTCS and ATCS architecture and ensure NASA compliance.
  • Document analysis results, prepare technical reports, and present findings to internal stakeholders and NASA customers.
