Job summary

Bastion Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support the space program in Houston, TX. The role involves leading design reviews, coordinating with engineers, and delivering mechanical solutions for thermal vacuum environments.

You will work onsite on a 9/80 schedule, oversee procurement and fabrication, and ensure compliance with standards. Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of related experience, with strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• US citizenship or permanent resident status required due to sensitive information.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum of 2 years of related work experience required.
• Ability to visualize and work with complex mechanical systems as part of a team.
• Ability to coordinate in a team environment to meet milestone design reviews and integration.
• Maintain configuration control for all phases of project.
• Ability to develop a design based on OP/requirements in a fast-paced environment.
• Interpret and modify P&ID drawings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to analyze requirements and develop design solutions.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and analyze mechanical products and systems.
• Perform engineering designs and evaluations for thermal vacuum space simulation testing.
• Produce engineering drawings conforming to standards (JPR 8500).
• Troubleshoot facility systems and instruct technicians on repairs.
• Lead mechanical engineers, stress engineers, and drafters to complete fabrication drawings.
• Prepare Work Authorization Documents for installation of hardware into test chambers.
• Prepare, submit, and track procurement, inspection, fabrication, and installation.
