Job summary

Bastion Technologies, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to support space program activities in Cape Canaveral, FL. You will develop plans, drawings, and models using Creo and contribute to BOMs, assemblies, and installation details alongside MGSE engineers.

The role involves documenting engineering work, CAD maintenance, and cross-discipline product development support, with travel and onsite responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support team members with design knowledge.
• Prepare layout drawings per ASME Y14.5 and produce production drawings.

Job description

The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the space program located in Cape Canaveral, FL. Engineers & Designers will work closely with MGSE engineers to provide components or portions of system designs to include handling, lifting, test, assembly and transportation of mechanical, and electrical components. The selected candidates will be responsible for engineering documentation, drawing/Computer Aided Design (CAD) maintenance and verification, and support of cross-discipline product development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use CREO to develop plans, drawings, models, revise and initiate formats for parts, assemblies, and installation engineering.
• Create new parts, drawings, BOMs, assemblies, simplified reps, shrink-wraps.
• Support team members with design knowledge.
• Complete layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices (ASME Y14.5).
• Prepare complete production detail drawings.
• Complete design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORK LOCATION:

• This position is located onsite; some travel may be required.
• Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

• Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

• Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
• Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
