Job summary

Bastion Technologies seeks a Thermal Analysis Engineer to support the space program in Houston, TX. You will develop and validate thermal models for spacecraft components and configurations, ensuring alignment with NASA requirements.

Proven experience with Thermal Desktop, COMSOL, or ANSYS Fluent is preferred, along with strong heat transfer knowledge. This onsite role offers a 9/80 schedule with potential travel and a collaborative engineering environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience.
  • Experience with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop, COMSOL, ANSYS Fluent.
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer principles and spacecraft thermal environments.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain thermal models using Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, and related tools.
  • Perform steady-state and transient analyses for spacecraft components, subsystems, and configurations.
  • Evaluate thermal performance across mission phases (ascent, cruise, lunar orbit, surface operations, off-nominal).
  • Support thermal verification and validation activities (test planning, thermal vacuum testing, data analysis, model correlation).
  • Collaborate with design teams to optimize PTCS and ATCS architecture.
  • Review NASA and vendor thermal designs for technical accuracy and requirement compliance.
  • Document analysis results and present findings to internal stakeholders and NASA customers.
  • Support integration with systems engineering, mission operations, and hardware development teams.
