Job summary

Lena Rose Beauty in Naperville, IL, is seeking a licensed nail technician for our non-tipping, W-2 spa. We offer a clean-beauty standard and a pay structure starting at $20/hour with tenure-based increases and commissions.

You will perform manicures and pedicures from Classic to Chakra lines, maintain sanitation to state standards, and encourage guest rebooking. Weekend availability required; training provided.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Nail Technician license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform manicures and pedicures from Classic to Chakra to Fire & Ice, including gel, structured, GelX and Russian techniques.
• Ensure nail health with honest consultations and proper cuticle care.
• Maintain sanitation to Illinois state board standards after every guest and reset station.
• Recommend at least one product per guest and rebook before checkout.

Job description

Lena Rose is the spa where the person in the chair matters more than the service on the menu. We're a W-2, non-tipping, clean-beauty spa and shop with two homes, Lincoln Square in Chicago and downtown Naperville. We're looking for a licensed nail technician at our Naperville spa who does clean, healthy, beautiful work and wants to take care of the human attached to the hands.

The schedule

Part-time: Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, every week. Weekends are our busiest days, so all three days are required.

What you'll do

• Manicures and pedicures from Classic to Chakra to Fire & Ice, plus gel, structured, GelX and Russian manicures, all to our written protocols and time windows.
• Nail health first: an honest consultation every time, proper cuticle care, and never covering a damaged nail without addressing it.
• Sanitation to Illinois state board standards after every guest, and a station reset to the Lena Rose Standard.
• At least one product recommendation per guest (goal of two), and every guest rebooked before checkout.

Non-negotiables

• A current Illinois Nail Technician license. Bring it to the interview.
• Available every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
• Clean, consistent technique: cuticle care, gel and structured application, e-file use and pedicure massage flow.
• Punctual and reliable, on time for every guest.
• Open to feedback and to doing things the Lena Rose way, even if you learned it differently.
• Comfortable with a non-tipping, W-2 model where pay grows with tenure and performance.

This role is not a fit if

• You need tips to feel paid.
• You can't commit to every weekend.
• You want to bring your own clients, products or social handles into the room.
• You'd rather leave early than use a slow afternoon well.

What Roses really earn

The pay shown on this post is base pay: $20/hour to start, growing with tenure to $27/hour. On top of that, you earn 2-10% commission on everything you sell (services and retail) through our Rose Rate. From May to September 2026, commission added about $1 to $2.50 an hour on average for our providers, and up to $5.60 an hour in a strong pay period. As your Rose Rate grows, so does your commission.

Physical requirements

This is a hands-on, on-the-floor role. You should be able to stand and move for most of a shift; bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 40 lbs to deliver services and reset rooms; and have the manual dexterity to use all tools and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
