Job summary

Lena Rose Beauty in Naperville and Chicago trains a licensed nail technician/esthetician/cosmetologist to progressively run the Naperville home. You’ll perform services, learn leadership, and be coached by the Spa Director throughout a structured 12‑month plan.

The role is full-time, Wednesday through Saturday with occasional Sundays for events, with base pay and commission, and comprehensive benefits as you advance toward management.

Lena Rose is the spa where the person in the chair matters more than the service on the menu. We're a W-2, non-tipping, clean-beauty spa and shop with two homes, Lincoln Square in Chicago and downtown Naperville. We're looking for a licensed provider who wants to become a manager, and we'll train you to run our Naperville home over a written 12-month plan.

What this job is

You’ll do services on the floor as a licensed nail technician, esthetician or cosmetologist while learning to lead the location, one stage at a time. You report to our Spa Director, who coaches you through every step. Full-time, Wednesday through Saturday, with occasional Sundays for events.

Your 12-month path

• Months 1–3, the floor and the desk: a full book to the Lena Rose Standard; opening and closing; Booker, checkout, cash handling and deposits; sanitation and room standards; a daily recap to the Spa Director.
• Months 4–6, schedules and supplies: build the weekly schedule with the Spa Director, cover call-outs, run inventory counts and reorders, and handle guest concerns with grace.
• Months 7–9, people: run huddles and check-ins, help onboard new Roses, and learn coaching recaps and 30/60/90-day reviews alongside the Spa Director; start building local partnerships and events.
• Months 10–12, running the home: own the schedule, the numbers and the daily operation, with the Spa Director checking in; lead the weekly briefing.

Non-negotiables

• A current Illinois Nail Technician, Esthetician or Cosmetology license. Bring it to the interview.
• At least one year of hands-on experience behind the chair or on the table.
• You want to lead: your goal is to grow into running a location, not only to do services.
• Available Wednesday through Saturday every week, plus occasional Sundays for events.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to both our Naperville and Chicago (Lincoln Square) spas for training and meetings.
• Organized, dependable and coachable: you take feedback and use it.
• A true believer in the Lena Rose mission who understands the company comes first.

Nice to have

• Any leadership experience: shift lead, trainer, key holder, front desk or opening/closing.
• Spa, salon or hospitality experience where service and standards both matter.
• A community-builder who lights up at meeting new people.

This role is not a fit if

• You only want to do services and have no interest in leading.
• You want the title before the training.
• You can’t commit to every Saturday and the occasional Sunday event.
• You need tips to feel paid.
• You avoid feedback or hard conversations.

How we hire (so you know what to expect)

1. Your resume and written answers to the three questions below.
2. A 15-minute phone screen.
3. An interview with our Spa Director and our founder.
4. A paid working interview at our Naperville spa: one service on a model plus time at the front desk alongside the Spa Director.
5. Reference checks, including a direct supervisor.

• $22/hour base, plus 2–10% commission on all your sales through our Rose Rate.
• A raise at six months when your milestones are met, and a path to Spa Manager ($50,000–$60,000 base plus tiered commission on store performance) at twelve months when the full plan is complete.

What the full package is worth

$22/hour is about $45,760 a year at 40 hours a week. From May to September 2026, commission added about $1 to $2.50 an hour for our providers, which would be roughly $2,000–$5,000 a year full-time. After your first 90 days, benefits add about $6,700–$7,600 a year in value: health insurance with Lena Rose paying 70% of the premium, the 401(k) match, and four paid development days. All together, that is about $55,000–$59,000 a year in pay, typical commission and benefits. The pay shown on this post is base pay; commission and benefit values are estimates based on our recent records, not a guarantee.

Physical requirements

This is a hands‑on, on‑the‑floor role. You should be able to stand and move for most of a shift; bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 40 lbs to deliver services and reset rooms; and have the manual dexterity to use all tools and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
