Job summary

The Lodge at Woodloch is seeking a nail technician to provide spa nail, hand and foot treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices. A Pennsylvania cosmetology license and at least 1 year of experience in a luxury salon are preferred, with a focus on guest satisfaction and cost-conscious service.

This on-site role supports our wellness retreat, promotes spa services and products, and requires excellent guest relations.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Pennsylvania state cosmetology license.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a nail technician in a luxury salon preferred.
  • Ability to provide high-quality nail, hand and foot treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Be punctual for shifts and maintain appointment times.
  • Provide professional nail, hand and foot treatments per spa protocols.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure product usage supports cost controls.
  • Educate guests on services and retail products.
  • Promote spa services and sessions to guests.
  • Uphold sanitation and sterilization standards.
  • Prepare work area and restock supplies as needed.
  • Communicate issues to management promptly.
  • Support spa operations and staff meetings.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Provide consistent professional nail, hand and foot treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices. Ensure a pleasant visit for each guest and maintain effective guest relations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be on time for your shift, prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
  • Provide consistent professional nail, hand and foot treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
  • Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa.
  • Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training guests in these areas.
  • Actively promote home care programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals.
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform prep work and properly clean and restock work area as required.
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs available to guests.
  • Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
  • Possess ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by salon management and spa director.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must hold and maintain a Pennsylvania state cosmetology license. Minimum of 1 year experience as a nail technician in a high-quality, luxury-orientated full-service salon preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to; sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. It is also required that the employee be able to lift, turn, or exert force more than 30 pounds.
