Hitachi Rail is seeking a Head of Construction Management for North America, based in Pittsburgh, to lead a regional team and ensure the safe, on-time delivery of complex projects. You will drive strategic growth, manage clients and subcontractors, and uphold safety, quality, and regulatory standards across North America.

The role demands 15+ years in construction management with 5+ years in senior leadership, superb communication, and travel across the region.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in construction management.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large-scale projects in North America.
• Strong knowledge of North American construction regulations, codes, and permitting processes.
• Extensive experience in contract negotiation, procurement, and subcontractor management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in project planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and quality assurance.
• Willingness to travel extensively across North America.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement construction management strategies aligned with Hitachi's objectives and NA market demands.
• Lead and manage a North America team of construction professionals.
• Oversee all phases of construction projects from planning through closeout.
• Ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards; identify and mitigate risks.
• Manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and regulators.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes, technology, and safety.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with clients and subcontractors.
• Provide expert guidance to project teams and resolve complex challenges.
• Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to inform strategy; prepare senior leadership reports.
• Champion Hitachi's sustainability and environmental responsibility in construction activities.
