Job summary

The City of New York's SBS seeks a Community Coordinator to review MWBE/LBE/EBE certification documents, conduct audits, and determine eligibility. The role involves in-person and remote work with travel across the five boroughs as needed.

Responsibilities include analyzing financial and payroll records, communicating with clients, drafting notices, and maintaining secure files. A relevant degree and experience are required, with potential for remote work up to two days weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in community work or related duties.
• High school graduation or equivalent with six years of related experience.
• Equivalent combination with at least one year of the above experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze documents in MWBE/LBE/EBE certification applications for validity and completeness.
• Conduct site visits/desk audits by interviewing applicants and reviewing records.
• Make eligibility recommendations based on thorough analysis of documents submitted by applicants.
• Contact clients and SBS vendors to assist with certification processes.
• Draft certification denials and revocation letters for review.
• Maintain confidential data and update the client management system.
• Support inquiries via helpline and Certification email accounts.
• Handle archiving/records keeping tasks and maintain secure files.
• Provide excellent customer service and interactions with clients.
• Assist with special projects supporting certification partners.

Education

Bachelor's degree + 2 years experience

High school diploma + 6 years experience

Equivalent combination with >=1 year experience
