Job summary

The City of New York’s Department of Small Business Services (SBS) seeks a Compliance Auditor to ensure the division meets its certification audit obligations and related duties. The role involves document review, interviews, and coordination with clients and vendors to support the certification process.

Under the Field Audit Supervisor, you will draft denials, maintain secure data, and participate in special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with two years of related work is required.
• High school graduate with six years of related work experience or equivalent is also acceptable.
• At least one year of experience as described above is required.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze documents for MWBE/LBE/EBE certification applications.
• Conduct site visits/desk audits and interview applicants.
• Make eligibility recommendations based on analysis of documents.
• Contact clients and SBS vendors to assist with certification processing.
• Draft denials and revocation letters for supervisory review.
• Maintain confidential data and update client management system.
• Support inquiries via helpline and certification email accounts.
• Handle archiving/records keeping and manage partner addenda.
• Provide excellent customer service in client interactions.
• Assist with special projects and maintaining certification partnerships.
