Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking a Maintenance of Way - MW Inspector to support Track staff coordination in Queens. The role involves assisting Supervisors, handling administrative tasks, and monitoring overtime to ensure efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment.

Qualifications

• A four-year high school diploma or equivalent approved by an education body.
• Minimum of two years track experience/knowledge.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to assume responsibilities.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Track materials and tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist Supervisors with administrative tasks to coordinate track assignments.
• Monitor canvassing to minimize unnecessary overtime and ensure timely work progress.
• Input entries for work orders, TD, forms, SAFERS, and asset management records.
• Produce mechanized/production reports for Engineering Dashboard.
• Assist with material and truck inventory checks and disposals.
