Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Power Electronics Engineer to advance medium-voltage VSD systems for global industrial use. You will work with seasoned engineers on drive design, control algorithms, and real-time simulations for marine propulsion, LNG facilities, offshore platforms, and more.

The role offers hands-on development, testing, and commissioning experience across controls, software, and system integration, with travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 0–5 years in power electronics, drives, motor control, or automation.
• Strong knowledge of electrical machines, transformers, and three-phase systems.
• Fundamental knowledge of power electronic converters (rectifiers/inverters).
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.

Responsibilities

• Design and size drive components (transformers, front ends, power bridges).
• Develop and validate motor control and power converter algorithms.
• Build and maintain simulation models for power electronics and motors.
• Participate in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and real-time simulation.
• Support software integration and testing in lab environments.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on control sequences.
