Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking an experienced electrical inspector and tester to lead on-site and shop-based testing, maintenance, and startup of low- to medium-voltage equipment. You will work with complex test gear, interpret schematics, and ensure safety compliance across projects.

Travel is required domestically, with international travel preferred. You will mentor junior technicians and collaborate with engineers to ensure successful project commissioning and startup.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of electrical experience with a High School Diploma/GED.
• Certification in NETA / NICET preferred or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical testing.
• Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting protective relays, circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, lead, and support multiple projects onsite and in-house, ensuring documentation from receipt to invoice.
• Perform testing of low and medium voltage cables, transformers, switchgear, relays, and related electrical apparatus.
• Contain material costs by eliminating waste and implementing control measures.
• Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies promptly.
• Promote an attitude of continuous improvement and teamwork.
