Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking a Test Technician to lead inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and startup of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment in field and shop settings. You will work with complex test equipment and support safe, compliant project completion.

The role requires 2+ years of electrical experience and knowledge of safety standards, with travel locally, regionally, and nationally. OEM certifications preferred; strong teamwork is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of relevant electrical experience with a High School Diploma/GED.
• NETA / NICET certification (preferred) or equivalent hands‑on experience in electrical testing.
• Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting protective relays, circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment.
• Experience with test equipment such as Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, and Fluke meters.
• Willingness to travel as needed and work in industrial, data center, and utility environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, lead, and support multiple projects onsite and in‑house using company software, ensuring documentation from receipt to invoice is complete.
• Perform testing of low and medium voltage cables, transformers, switchgear, relays, breakers, and other electrical equipment.
• Contain material costs by eliminating wasteful practices and implementing control measures.
• Rotate emergency on‑call duty and respond to customer emergencies promptly.
• Promote continuous improvement and teamwork while maintaining safety standards.
