Job summary

Boom Supersonic is seeking an electrical engineer to own the design of a 13.8kV medium‑voltage system for the Superpower platform. Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience with medium-voltage systems — switchgear, breakers, protective relaying, grounding, and generator integration in industrial or power-generation environments.
• Solid understanding of rotating machinery: generator behavior, excitation, AVR systems, synchronization, and transient response under load, faults, and trips.
• Experience with protection coordination — relay selection, settings, differential and overcurrent schemes — and the ability to own that work from study through commissioning.
• Ability to read and produce clean MV electrical drawings (one-lines, wire diagrams, panel layouts) that can be built and commissioned without ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end electrical design of the 13.8kV MV system from architecture to energization, testing, and field commissioning.
• Define MV architecture, one-lines, protection philosophy, and operate long-lead switchgear and generator-circuit-breaker sourcing.
• Produce protection coordination studies, relay settings, MV drawings, and lead energization, synchronization, and load acceptance.
