Job summary

Boom Supersonic is seeking an engineer to own the electrical design for the new Superpower turbine program in Denver. You will define low-voltage architecture, produce wiring diagrams, and lead first-article build and commissioning on the test floor.

You'll collaborate with mechanical, controls, and instrumentation teams to ensure safe, reliable power distribution across 480VAC skid systems and 12–28VDC electronics, delivering buildable drawings and on-site troubleshooting for rapid iteration.

Qualifications

• Design and commission LV electrical systems for industrial equipment such as turbines, compressors, or generators.
• Produce wiring diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, load lists, I/O lists, and supporting analyses.
• Own first-article build, electrical checkout, troubleshooting, first energisation, and commissioning during test.
• Work across mechanical, controls, and instrumentation teams to translate requirements into buildable drawings.
• Understand grounding, bonding, shielding, and EMI/EMC design practices across power, control, and instrumentation wiring.

Responsibilities

• Define LV architecture, single-line diagrams, interface requirements and operational concepts.
• Produce wiring diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and I/O lists for detailed design.
• Own first-article build, electrical checkout, troubleshooting, energisation and commissioning during test.
