Job summary

Northfield Park Racino is seeking a Mutuel Clerk to assist guests with placing wagers on horse racing and sporting events from around the globe. You will follow department policies and ensure accurate cash handling and ticket payments.

Responsibilities include maintaining a cash bank, paying winning tickets, explaining wagering rules, and ensuring security of customer rewards. Prior cash-handling or guest-service experience is preferred; weekend shifts required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6+ months of guest service and cash-handling experience preferred.
• Willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Write, verify, and make payments on tickets for race and sports wagers in accordance with department policy and procedures and ensure compliance to applicable jurisdictional gaming statues and regulations
• Maintain a cash bank for his/her shift, responsible for accepting payment and making correct change when necessary
• Stock Race & Sports book Writer/Cashier's stations with adequate supplies; keep all stations neat and clean
• Make payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner; verify tickets and payoffs
• Maintain and reconcile bank for assigned shift, following established cash-handling policies andprocedures
• Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests
• Ensure the protection of customer’s rewards and adherence to credit lines
• Notify management of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity
• Help patrons with withdrawals/deposits through pxp

Education

Work Experience

• 6+ Months of Prior Relevant Experience Guest Service and Cash-handling experience Preferred
