Job summary

Northfield Park Racino is seeking a Sportsbook/Mutuel Clerk to assist guests with wagering on horse racing and sports from around the globe. You will handle cash, explain betting rules, and ensure compliance with gaming policies in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

This role requires strong cash-handling, basic computer skills, and excellent English communication. Evening and weekend shifts are required, with opportunities to grow in a dynamic hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 6+ months of prior relevant experience in guest services and cash-handling preferred.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Write, verify, and pay out tickets for race and sports wagers per policy.
• Maintain a cash bank and provide correct change.
• Stock stations with supplies and keep areas neat.
• Pay winning tickets accurately and timely; verify tickets and payoffs.
• Reconcile bank for shift following cash-handling procedures.
• Explain wagering rules, lines, and odds to guests.
• Protect customer rewards and adhere to credit lines.
• Escalate guest issues and monitor for suspicious activity.
• Assist patrons with withdrawals/deposits through pxp.

Description

The primary responsibility of the Sportsbook/Mutuel Clerk is to assist guests with placing wagers on horse racing and sporting events from around the globe. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental property policies, practices and procedures.

Schedule Monday and Thursday from 6:30 PM–10:30 PM, Friday from 6:30 PM–11:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 5:00 PM–11:30 PM.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Write, verify, and make payments on tickets for race and sports wagers in accordance with department policy and procedures and ensure compliance to applicable jurisdictional gaming statues and regulations
• Maintain a cash bank for his/her shift, responsible for accepting payment and making correct change when necessary
• Stock Race & Sports book Writer/Cashier's stations with adequate supplies; keep all stations neat and clean
• Make payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner; verify tickets and payoffs
• Maintain and reconcile bank for assigned shift, following established cash-handling policies and
• procedures
• Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests
• Ensure the protection of customer’s rewards and adherence to credit lines
• Notify management of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity
• Help patrons with withdrawals/deposits thru pxp

Work Experience
