Description:

The Music and Social Media Copywriter is responsible for crafting compelling copy for social media platforms and our client’s Music platform. Candidates should have strong social media writing experience and a background in the music industry. Ideal candidates will have experience editing and writing for major music media brands.

Responsibilities

1. Write and edit engaging copy for social media channels focusing on music and original content.
2. Develop copy tailored for platforms such as Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.
3. Utilize understanding of audience engagement to select resonant story angles.
4. Collaborate with teams to develop strategies to reach target audiences.
5. Analyze data to optimize copy performance across platforms.
6. Stay informed about industry trends, news, and current events.
7. Convey brand and artist voice effectively through writing.
8. Write music feature copy and album notes for the Music platform, adhering to style guides.
9. Ensure writing is inclusive and representative of diverse audiences.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
2. 3+ years of experience as a music writer/editor for recognized media brands.
3. Proven track record in music-related content for social media.
4. Strong understanding of engagement tactics and storytelling.
5. Ability to work swiftly and adapt as content is created and posted.
6. Familiarity with artist and music creator marketing strategies.
7. Ability to work with senior editors to produce creative copy and align with social copy.
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
9. Familiarity with company style guides and standards.
10. Ability to analyze data, visualize insights, and communicate effectively.
11. Extensive knowledge of music and pop culture.
12. Ability to build strong cross-team relationships.
13. Proficiency in inclusive language for diverse audiences.
14. Must work on-site in Culver City, CA at least three days/week on a hybrid schedule.
