Job summary

St. Croix Hospice is seeking a compassionate Music Therapist to support end‑of‑life care with personalized musical experiences. You will assess patients, implement music-based interventions, and document outcomes to enhance comfort, dignity, and emotional well‑being.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited music therapy program with bachelor’s degree in music therapy.
• Board Certified Music Therapist (MT‑BT) or other national certifying body is acceptable.
• Ability to pass background, consumer report, and drug test.
• Provide music therapy per plan of care; assess patients and determine effectiveness.
• Implement interventions to relieve symptoms and support emotional, physical, and spiritual comfort.
• Use techniques such as relaxation, lyric analysis, songwriting, and life review; document sessions promptly.
• Educate team, maintain HIPAA compliance, and participate in interdisciplinary meetings and quality improvement.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified Music Therapist (MT‑BT)
  • National Music Therapy Registry
  • American Music Therapy Association
  • Or another national organization that certifies, registers, or accredits Music Therapists.
