Job summary

Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs is seeking a student worker to support the band program by organizing and maintaining music library materials. You will assist the Band Conductor with management of printed music, scores, and related resources to ensure easy access and organization of the band's collection.

The role is 2–4 hours per week, focusing on cataloging, inventory, and clerical tasks to support band activities and performances. Prior music interest or experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• Current IWCC student in good standing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Excel.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions.
• Reliable and able to maintain accurate records.
• Interest or experience in music, band, or performing arts.

Responsibilities

• Sort, organize, and file music and scores as assigned by the Band Conductor.
• Maintain and update the band music library.
• Create and manage an electronic spreadsheet inventory of the Jazz Band music library.
• Assist with cataloging and tracking music holdings.
• Organize performance and rehearsal materials for easy access and use.
• Perform basic clerical and data-entry tasks related to library management.
• Assist with other band library projects as assigned by the Band Conductor.
