Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division seeks a music instructor to plan and teach lessons consistent with Salvation Army program guidelines and Chad Smith Foundation expectations. Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Instructor is responsible for their own personal instrument(s).
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree or professional certification in music preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assembles semester-long curriculum syllabus according to selected instrument or vocal.
• Coordinates recitals and performances for students of advanced classes and Jam sessions.
• Conducts music lessons for beginner/ intermediate levels (35-minute sessions), and advanced level and Jam sessions (50-minute sessions).
• Conducts lessons for ages 9–18 with cohorts of up to 5 students.
• Completes CSF required lesson reporting and intake forms, including tracking attendance and engagement.
• Communicates Salvation Army programs to students, parents, and the public.
• Communicates Chad Smith Foundation programs to students, parents, and the public.
• Develops and maintains positive learning environment; maintains a safe workspace.

Education
