Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a music instructor to plan and teach lessons per program guidelines in partnership with the Chad Smith Foundation. You will coordinate recitals, manage class schedules, and maintain a positive classroom environment.

Responsibilities include conducting 35–50 minute lessons for youth, completing CSF reporting, and communicating program philosophy to families and the public. This is an on-site role with flexible scheduling and strong impact on community programs.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • At least one year of experience as a performing musician.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree or professional certification in music preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles semester-long curriculum syllabus for chosen instrument or voice.
  • Coordinates recitals and performances for advanced students and jam sessions.
  • Conducts music lessons for beginner to advanced levels (35‑ or 50‑minute sessions).
  • Delivers lessons to groups of up to 5 students aged 9–18.
  • Completes CSF lesson reports and attendance tracking.
