Job Description Summary

The ULV Music Department student assistant will help with everyday assignments with faculty and staff. They will also help with events, concerts, and lectures that happen in the Morgan Auditorium.

Responsibilities

• Assist with office manager duties, such as photocopying and printing.
• Help organize and clean up the music workspaces, including the Music Library, recording studio, and classrooms.
• Act as a general technician in the Morgan auditorium, serving as a stagehand and assistant to the house manager on events, concerts, lectures, and rentals.
• Perform equipment testing and maintenance in the Morgan Auditorium and recording studio.

Minimum Qualifications

• Positive and friendly communication skills.
• A general understanding and appreciation of music.
• Open availability especially on weekends and nights.

Preferred Qualifications

• Music major or minor.
• Knowledge of music technology, such as recording studios and venues.
• Experience in live stage tech, sound, or light design.

Benefits Summary

Employees are eligible for the following benefits:

• One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.
• University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.
• In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
• Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
