Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Music Ministry Instructor to develop and implement music and creative arts programs for the Corps and community. This role teaches theory, performance (brass, vocal, guitar, piano, ukulele, etc.) and creative arts, aligning with the LTMB program to support Sunday worship and arts initiatives.

Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years of music experience with children or adults, a Bachelor’s in music or equivalent experience,

Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years music experience working with children/adults.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or working towards a degree in music, or extensive teaching experience.
Proficiency in music theory and in a primary instrument
Performance experience is preferred.
Valid Driver’s license/MVR clearance.

Responsibilities

Educate and train future leaders in Music and Creative Arts ministry.
Teach and spread the Gospel to youths through music and arts.
Begin each class with prayer and a scripture verse.
Lead or assist in school/Corps programs with provided lesson plans.
Help plan LTMB recitals and prepare the corps music program for LTMB concert.
Encourage participants to develop musical abilities and a sense of accomplishment.
