Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Music Program Leader to plan and implement engaging theory, performance, and values-based music classes for youth and adults in the corps and community.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s in music or substantial teaching experience, with at least two years in music education and a track record in leadership and collaboration to support community outreach and end-of-year performances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music preferred or extensive teaching experience.
• Minimum of two years’ music teaching experience with children and/or adults.
• Performance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead music and arts programs within the corps and plan weekly lesson outlines.
• Coordinate recitals and end-of-year concert participation.
• Encourage participants to develop skills and self-esteem through music.
• Organize performances to promote the Salvation Army mission.
• Support summer camps and divisional music camp participation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
