Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division seeks a dedicated individual to lead the corps music program. You will plan and implement theory, performance, and values-based music instruction for both children and adults, coordinating weekly lessons and curriculum.

You will organize recitals and end-of-year concerts, fostering teamwork and personal growth while promoting the Salvation Army mission through community engagement and summer music camps participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music preferred or extensive experience teaching music.
• Minimum of two years’ music experience with children/adults; performance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead music and arts programs within the corps; plan weekly music lessons and curriculum.
• Plan and attend all corps recitals and coordinate participation in year-end concert.
• Encourage participants to develop musical abilities, self-esteem, pride, and positive activities.
• Organize musical performances and community activities to promote the mission of The Salvation Army.
• Encourage attendance at summer camps and plan participation in divisional music camps and day camps.
