Job summary

Museum of Fine Arts, Houston seeks an Engineer Supervisor to oversee Engineering & Facilities operations during weekends and peak visitor hours across MFAH campuses. You will provide hands‑on technical support, supervise staff, and ensure safe, reliable operation of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.

Schedule is subject to change per operational needs; you will lead weekend shifts, coordinate maintenance, and manage event support in collaboration with event planners.

Qualifications

  • HVAC, boilers, chillers, AHUs, electrical, plumbing and related systems knowledge.
  • Ability to read building plans, schematics and technical documents.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to lead teams and manage conflicts.
  • Physically capable of performing duties including lifting and equipment operation.
  • On-call or weekend availability as needed.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees Engineering & Facilities operations during weekends and peak visitor hours across MFAH campuses.
  • Provides hands‑on technical support and supervises engineering and Building Services staff.
  • Ensures timely completion of work orders and event setups; maintains safe, reliable operation of systems.
  • Leads safety coordination, hazard mitigation, and emergency response duties as essential personnel.
  • Acts as liaison for fire alarm, fire suppression, and elevator systems during assigned shifts; coordinates inspections and maintenance.
  • Oversees contractor work during weekends; supports staff development and performance evaluations.
