Job summary

Museum of Fine Arts Houston is seeking an Engineer Supervisor to oversee Engineering & Facilities operations during weekends and peak visitor hours across MFAH campuses.

The role provides hands-on technical support, supervises staff, and ensures timely completion of work orders while maintaining safe operation of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Strong leadership and safety coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in building operations, maintenance and safety coordination.
• Ability to read building plans, schematics, and technical documents.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with weekend/event shift coverage.
• Experience with Metasys or BAS platforms is a plus.
• Valid Texas driver's license may be preferred for vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversees Engineering & Facilities operations during weekends and peak visitor hours across MFAH campuses.
• Provides hands-on technical support and supervises engineering and Building Services staff.
• Ensures timely completion of work orders and event setups; maintains safe, reliable operation of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
• Coordinates inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair activities for critical systems (fire alarm, fire suppression, elevator, pumps, lighting).
• Acts as primary liaison for elevator maintenance vendors and inspectors; oversees service and state inspections.
