Job summary

The Whitney Museum of American Art is seeking part-time Visitor and Member Assistants to promote Whitney Membership and provide exceptional customer service to visitors and members. You will work across the lobby, information office, and public areas, supporting sales objectives and engaging with a diverse audience.

Responsibilities include canvassing for memberships, handling admissions transactions, and using POS/CRM tools, with an emphasis on friendly, professional interactions and teamwork

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in sales & customer service in public-facing environment.
• Friendly, outgoing and professional attitude.
• Strong sales acumen and cash handling skills.
• Spanish language ability preferred; second language a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pitch membership to visitors and in lobby, shop, and public areas.
• Meet sales goals by acquiring new members.
• Serve as first contact for members and visitors in office and on site.
• Provide excellent customer service adhering to Experience Principles.
• Promote Whitney Membership, Shop, and exhibition program.
• Observe cash handling policies, use POS & CRM tools.
• Resolve customer service requests and assist at membership events.
