The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is seeking a Second Shift Security Specialist to deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining safety for visitors, staff, volunteers, and collections. You will patrol the campus, manage hazards, and assist with crowd control, emergency protocols, and security operations throughout the site.

Responsibilities include supporting Visitor Services, securing the building, coordinating with emergency responders, and maintaining Lost & Found records.

Qualifications

• Six months in customer service operations or related field.
• Must be CPR/AED and Stop the Bleed certified or able to be certified within 6 months of hire.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Strong de-escalation and conflict resolution skills; diverse communication.
• Proactive, independent worker with good decision-making and computer skills.
• Able to work weekends, holidays, after-hours and overnight shifts.
• Able to stand long periods and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsabilités

• Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, staff and volunteers while enforcing security policies.
• Monitor emergency calls and provide first aid, CPR as needed, and coordinate with outside agencies.
• Assist Visitor Services during normal hours and events with entry gates and safety operations.
• Conduct patrols of building, grounds, and parking; handle opening/closing duties and secure premises.
• Stay informed on museum operations, wayfinding, and emergency protocols.
• Lead in emergency protocols, evacuations and safety drills with staff and visitors.
• Maintain Lost & Found logs and coordinate item return with Shift Lead.
• Escort cash and money transports; provide basic vehicle assistance.
• Cross-train for Control Room operations and monitor alarms and cameras.
• Support other departments as needed.
