Job summary

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Inc is seeking a Second Shift Security Specialist to ensure safety and exceptional service for visitors, staff, and volunteers. You will conduct patrols, assist with emergencies, and support visitor services during events, while maintaining knowledge of daily operations and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of work experience in customer service operations and knowledge of emergency protocols.
• CPR/AED and Stop the Bleed certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Strong de-escalation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Must be highly motivated, detail oriented and able to work independently with strong decision-making skills; knowledge of computer operations and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service to visitors, museum staff and volunteers; enforces security and visitor relations policies.
• Responds to emergencies; provides first aid (CPR) and supports outside agencies during emergencies.
• Assists Visitor Services during operating hours and events with entry gates, safety, and other operations support.
• Conducts patrols of building, grounds, and parking areas; secures the building during openings/closings.
• Maintains familiarity with daily operations, way-finding, and emergency protocols; supports emergency evacuations.
