The Cleveland Museum of Art is seeking a Security and Special Events Manager to oversee control room and floor operations during events and regular hours. You will lead the protection services team to safeguard the collection, facility, staff, visitors, interns, volunteers and contractors.
Training staff in safety, security and visitor service is required. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and experience with alarm, fire and video surveillance systems.
The Security and Special Events Manager oversees control room and floor operations during special events and regular business hours. Manages activities of the museum’s protection services team to provide adequate safety, protection and security for the collection, facility, staff, visitors, interns, volunteers, and contractors. Provides training to staff in safety, security and visitor service as needed. Works with staff, contractors and vendors in accordance for special events to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Requirements and Key Competencies
Associate degree from college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Employee should have excellent interpersonal skills, be dependable, and be willing and available to work evenings and weekends as required. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people in a variety of situations essential. Able to properly manage conflict resolution in a professional and kind manner. Formulate recommendations for the development or modification of policies and practices that promote diversity, inclusivity, and equity. Participate in professional organizations to promote networking and best practices. Required to be trained and certified in First Aid and CPR. Knowledge and experience of alarm, fire, and video surveillance systems.
Responsibilities
Annual Salary: $60,000 / working 40 hours a week
