Job summary

The Cleveland Museum of Art is seeking a full-time Building Services staff member to maintain cleanliness of the museum's indoor spaces. Responsibilities include cleaning fixtures, floors, offices, galleries, and restrooms, with occasional event support.

Hours are 40 per week, Wednesday through Sunday from 7:00am to 4:00pm, with an hourly rate of $19.25. Benefits and on-site work are provided as part of a full-time position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, strippers, and carpet cleaners.

Responsibilities

• Clean and polish light fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Clean galleries, classrooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, lounges, and other work areas as assigned.
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors.
• Clean rugs and carpets.
• Dust furniture and equipment; polish metalwork.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets; transport trash to disposal area.
• Clean bathrooms and replenish supplies.
• Assist with special museum events (setup/teardown, event cleaning).
• Move office furniture and equipment as needed.
• Perform other special projects as assigned.
