Job summary

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is seeking a Part-Time Parking Attendant to greet and direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic at museum entrances, assist visitors, and maintain safe traffic flow along Anne d’Harnoncourt Drive. You will also relay buses and manage drop-off/pick-up at museum entrances, and provide information about transportation and area attractions.

This on-site role requires excellent customer service, the ability to stand outside in all weather, prior cash handling experience,

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to foster relationships with visitors.
• Ability to stand outdoors for long periods in all weather.
• Previous cash handling experience and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet, escort, assist, and direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic at museum entrances and along drive.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to serving visitors and passersby and provide museum information.
• Maintain a visible presence to ensure safe pedestrian passage and alert drivers when necessary.
• Coordinate bus arrivals/departures for groups and ensure smooth drop-off/pick-up flow.
• Provide information about transportation and local area attractions and guidance as needed.
• Assist visitors with payments on pay-on-foot machines and parking office payments.
• Update and monitor the parking system database and report malfunctions.
• Handle visitor concerns professionally and refer unresolved issues to management.
• Complete daily opening and closing tasks.
• Cross-train in other Visitor Experience areas as assigned.
