Job summary

The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, FL seeks a Museum Technician to join the Exhibition Design & Installation team. You will be responsible for the physical realization, installation, and maintenance of exhibitions and galleries, collaborating with Curators and Registrars.

Applicants should have hands-on art handling experience and proven skills in millwork and fabrication. The role requires reading technical drawings, building museum-grade display furniture, and maintaining a safe,

Qualifications

BA or BFA in art-related field preferred.
Minimum of five years of full-time, professional experience in a museum, gallery, or similar setting demonstrating art handling and installation and precision fabrication/millwork.
Must be available for flexible hours including occasional evenings, early mornings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

Handle and install artworks to professional museum standards.
Assist in packing, crating, and movement of works for exhibitions and storage.
Fabricate custom museum-grade display furniture, platforms, pedestals, and cases.
Read and interpret architectural or shop drawings for exhibition components.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
