The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Museum Technician to join the Exhibition Design & Installation team. You will handle fine art installation, movement, packing, and crating, following professional standards to protect the collection.

Qualifications

• BA or BFA preferred in art-related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of full-time professional experience in an art museum or similar setting.
• Flexibility to work evenings, early mornings, and weekends to meet installation schedules.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Installation Team, Curators, staff, vendors, and visiting artists to execute exhibitions.
• Perform safe installation, de-installation, and movement of artworks respecting museum standards.
• Assist in packing/crating, unpacking, and receiving artwork, including loading/unloading trucks.
• Troubleshoot display challenges and modify fabrication solutions as needed.
• Maintain galleries and support lighting the spaces as required.
• Read architectural and technical drawings to plan exhibition components.
