Job summary

University of North Florida (MOCA, Curatorial-OPS) is seeking a hands-on technician to install and de-install exhibitions and prepare artwork for display, shipment, or storage. You will set up technology like media players and monitors, crate and transport works, and paint gallery walls with precision, all within a collaborative team.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential, with some late-evening and weekend hours required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of contemporary art.
• Experience installing/de-installing complex exhibitions.
• Familiarity with media players and digital displays.
• Proficiency in interior painting, drywall, taping, carpentry.
• Ability to work in a team with strong communication.
• Experience in construction, fabrication and painting of exhibition assets.
• Able to handle physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and working at heights.

Responsibilities

• Installation and de-installation of exhibitions.
• Preparation of artwork for exhibition, shipment, or storage.
• Installation of technology such as media players and monitors.
• Safe crating, packing, and transportation of artwork.
• Painting gallery walls neatly and efficiently.
• Maintain work spaces, tools and environment.
• Collaborate with curatorial department in a team setting.
• Occasional late-evening and weekend hours may be required.
