Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with demonstrated reading and writing proficiency in English.
• Solid job history; excellent attendance and reliability.
• Ability to explain guidelines and answer questions in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ask questions when directions are unclear.
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding Museum security.
• Be able to stand and remain alert for extended periods of time.
• Must have good sight and hearing acuity and be able to climb stairs.
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance and uniform standards.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Demonstrates good customer skills, is always available to assist visitors and staff in a polite and courteous manner.
• Situations: Able to handle stressful situations with confidence and diplomacy; reports issues to a Supervisor.
• Protecting the Art: Prevents theft or damage to the art and property inside the museum and on grounds by observing visitors.
• Procedures on Post: Follows post procedures; inspects items, completes incident reports, and keeps post orderly.
• Emergency Procedures: In emergencies, evacuates visitors and employees quickly and safely.
• Efficiency: Able to handle multiple situations efficiently and professionally.
