Job summary

Johnson Museum of Art in Ithaca, NY, seeks a Visitor Services Associate to support daily gallery and reception desk operations on-site. You will greet visitors, answer questions, manage keys, access cards, and logs, and assist with mail and general admin.

The role is full-time, 40 hours/week, with core hours Tue–Fri 8:15 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and Sat 11:45 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and a flexible schedule to support museum events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with related experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and provide information about the Museum, Cornell, Ithaca, artwork, and local events.
• Register participants for educational programs and track attendance.
• Answer multi-line phone calls and respond to inquiries.
• Monitor lobby and galleries to maintain a welcoming environment.
• Log daily activities and manage keys and access cards.
• Coordinate 25Live facility reservations and event schedules.
• Develop digital tools and documents to support reception operations.
