Job summary

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum seeks a Facilities Manager to oversee daily maintenance, repairs, and upkeep at Lowry and Exploration of Flight. This hands-on role supervises custodial staff, coordinates contractors and maintains preventive maintenance programs.

The role reports to the Director of People & Culture, coordinating work around programs and events while ensuring safe, functional spaces for staff, volunteers and guests. 40 hours weekly, some weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of facilities maintenance or related skilled trade experience.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating contractors or service providers.
• Knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance and repair practices.
• Ability to perform routine repairs safely and recognize when specialized work requires a contractor.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and grounds at both locations to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs (doors, plumbing, painting, etc.).
• Troubleshoot facility problems and engage qualified contractors for specialized work.
• Coordinate maintenance and service of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting and roofing.
• Maintain a preventive maintenance calendar and centralized work-order log.
• Supervise Custodial Lead and Custodian; manage cleaning coverage for daily operations and events.
