Job summary

Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library is seeking a General Services Aide to perform janitorial services across its facilities and support event setup. The role requires attention to cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction in a dynamic museum environment.

Responsibilities include routine cleaning, trash removal, and assisting with conference room setup, while adhering to sanitation guidelines and safety protocols. This position offers full-time hours and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2 year janitorial experience with a HS diploma/GED or equivalent years of experience
• Preferred experience in Hospitality or Cultural Institutions
• Knowledge of housekeeping operational procedures
• Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements and cleaning chemicals

Responsibilities

• Janitorial Services - maintain general indoor appearance of the building, restrooms and lobbies, vacuum, mop floors, and clean carpets
• Ensure disinfection and sanitization of spaces following OSHA, CDC, and state guidelines
• Set up conference rooms for training as needed
• Assist with event setup and takedown including arranging tables and trash receptacles
