Job summary

Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation is seeking a Training Supervisor to lead onboarding and ongoing development for Learning Facilitators across Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. You will design programs, build an online learning catalog, and supervise staff to ensure consistent, high-quality student programming.

The role emphasizes collaboration with HR, program leadership, and subject-matter experts to align training with strategic goals and evaluative standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of adult training methodology and instructional design; ability to translate complex information into accessible learning experiences.
• Project management and organizational skills to handle multiple training initiatives, timelines, stakeholders, and priorities.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; ability to collaborate with staff, leadership, subject-matter experts, and mentors.
• Experience supervising and mentoring a diverse staff, setting expectations, and monitoring progress.
• Ability to observe and evaluate performance, provide feedback, and coach toward improved practice.
• Ability to review evaluations and staff observations to identify training needs and inform priorities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute School Programs team onboarding and training in alignment with the agency’s goals and Interpretive Plan.
• Develop onboarding programs to prepare Learning Facilitators for effective delivery of JYF educational programming.
• Design in-person and online learning experiences aligned with educational goals and adult learning best practices.
• Create annual training calendars addressing staff knowledge gaps and advancing educational initiatives.
• Develop mentor training and train-the-trainer programs; observe sessions and provide feedback and coaching.
• Maintain an online learning catalog supporting content knowledge and program delivery.
• Provide day-to-day supervision, communicate expectations, conduct evaluations, and address performance issues.
• Collaborate with Hiring Managers, HR, Education Resource Specialists, mentors, and leadership to align hiring, onboarding, training, and development.
• Track and analyze professional development participation and outcomes to inform priorities and standards for facilitators.
