Job summary

Trotter and Associates, Inc. seeks an experienced municipal Project Engineer – Water/Wastewater to lead planning, design, and delivery of improvements across Illinois and Wisconsin.

You will work with project managers and cross-disciplinary teams to manage projects from concept through construction for public-sector clients. You'll guide design and coordination of facilities, prepare reports and documents, and mentor staff while expanding your leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must hold Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and have strong civil engineering credentials.
• Typically 6+ years of progressive civil engineering experience with municipal water/wastewater projects.
• Experience designing water/wastewater infrastructure including pump stations and treatment facilities.
• Familiarity with federal/state/local permitting and regulatory requirements; effective client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and coordination of municipal water/wastewater engineering projects from concept through construction.
• Prepare Engineering reports, plans, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with municipalities, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables; mentor staff engineers.
