Job summary

Smith & Loveless is seeking a Municipal Treatment & Headworks Systems Sales Engineer to collaborate with our Municipal Sales team in the water treatment industry. The role focuses on expanding sales of S&L treatment and grit systems with engineers, cities, counties and contractors in the Lenexa, KS area.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering or technical sales and 2+ years in water/wastewater equipment sales, with strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Effective communication, human relations, presentation and sales abilities.
• Experience with water and/or wastewater equipment preferred.
• Travel required 10-25% initially, then 50-60% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Support overall sales coverage for the region and develop plans to increase sales of S&L treatment and grit systems.
• Develop budgets and support strategies to increase order closure rates.
• Cultivate relationships with key accounts including engineers, cities, counties, and contractors.
• Provide timely follow-up on pricing, bids, inquiries and submittals.
• Share technical knowledge to assist engineers and municipalities in design and purchase of S&L products.
