Job summary

Cherry Hill Township is seeking a qualified, highly motivated individual for the full-time position of Deputy Tax Collector. This role supports the Tax Collector by processing billing and collections, reconciling daily receipts, and maintaining accurate financial records for public tax and sewer inquiries.

The ideal candidate has a Certified Tax Collector license and strong customer service and organizational skills in a municipal setting.

Qualifications

Must hold a Certified Tax Collector license (NJ) and be able to maintain continuing education credits.
Minimum 5+ years municipal tax office experience.
Strong cash handling and financial reconciliation skills.
Experience with Edmunds Tax and Utility software.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
New Jersey residency required.

Responsibilities

Process payments for taxes, sewer, and central cash fees and reconcile daily receipts.
Prepare tax and sewer bills and daily cash reports.
Assist with tax lien redemption processes and annual tax sale activities.
Provide administrative support and notarize documents as needed.
Step in for Tax Collector during absences.
