Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Municipal Project Manager to lead infrastructure projects for municipal, private development, and institutional clients. You will manage engineers, planners, and technicians to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You will build strong client relationships, align project goals with client needs, and foster a collaborative, high‑performing project environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of Site Civil or Municipal Engineering experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Kentucky or Indiana, or ability to obtain licensure within 120 days.
• Training in PMI/PSMJ methodologies preferred.
• Extensive design experience: grading, water mains, sanitary sewers, roads, stormwater, green infrastructure.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and coordinate cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of diverse projects.
• Define outcomes, metrics, and success criteria with clients.
• Develop proposals with scope, WBS, and milestone schedules.
• Oversee design, mitigate risks, ensure QA, manage workflow to deadlines.
• Facilitate permits and entitlements within the scope of work.
• Support bidding, respond to RFIs, conduct site visits, participate in progress meetings.
• Manage project budgets, invoicing, and closeout processes.
• Maintain strong client satisfaction by delivering exceptional service.
