Job summary

Insight Global in Goodyear, AZ, is hiring a Payroll Specialist to support full-cycle municipal payroll during a 12-24 month HRIS/HCM implementation. This on-site role handles payroll processing, timekeeping, deductions, and tax reporting while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Benefits eligibility applies for the assignment, with potential conversion to a regular full-time role. The ideal candidate has 5 years of municipal payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of police/fire pay

Qualifications

• 3 years experience in municipal payroll (full cycle)
• Experience with police and fire payroll rules preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Calculates, processes, reviews, and prepares biweekly municipal payrolls and direct deposit files.
• Reviews timesheets for accuracy and coordinates with staff to resolve discrepancies.
• Performs payroll tax, deduction, and remittance calculations and reporting.
• Maintains payroll records and supports system implementation testing and data validation.
