Job summary

Insight Global in Goodyear, AZ is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee day-to-day payroll operations and supervise the payroll team during an HRIS/HCM implementation. You will ensure accurate, compliant payroll processing for a municipal public-safety workforce, including police and fire employees, and collaborate across HR, Accounting, and IT.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible payroll experience with supervisory duties.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day payroll operations and priorities.
• Supervise payroll staff and provide coaching to ensure coverage.
• Oversee full-cycle payroll including retroactive pay, deductions, accruals, terminations and reconciliations.
• Ensure payroll practices align with FLSA, labor requirements, policies and MOUs/collective bargaining agreements.
• Oversee complex payroll rules for police and fire employees.
• Act as point of escalation for complex payroll issues and discrepancies.
• Oversee payroll taxes, retirement contributions, deductions, GL reconciliations, Forms 941 and other reporting.
• Maintain payroll controls and support audits during HRIS/HCM transitions.
• Partner with HR, IT, and Finance on system changes and data validation.
